Mermaids,
A mermaid, as we all know is a legendary aquatic creature with the head and torso of
human female and the tail of a fish. The male version of a mermaid is
called a merman; the gender-neutral collective noun is merfolk.
Mermaids are incredibly skilled at seducing lonely sailors and dragging them to the bottom of the sea. Some very strong mermaids were able to cause storms and shipwrecks.
Mermaids were an emblem of vanity, lust and the spiritual perils of women and of sexuality.
There are evil mermaids who drag there victims to the bottom of the sea. But there are also good mermaids who try to rescue humans.
