A sirens call

Peirce looked at her. He wanted to tell her. But not yet.

He shook his head, "Not today." he said flatly.

Crystal looked away from him. " I understand" she said and stared at the water.

"I don't talk about the past," said Peirce. "Talk about the past and the past comes to you; in dreams."

" I see." Crystal said and looked at him.

Peirce looked at her. Why was he looking at her? No clue, he thought.

Crystal looked away from his gaze and looked down at the ground. Not knowing what to say.

"What about your people?" Peirce asked as he looked away too.

" What about them?" Crystal asked as she stared into the water and felt like they were watching her...and judging her

Peirce shrugged. "Are they all as nice as you are?"

Crystal slightly smirked. " No." she said shaking her head. " They don't believe in the same things i do..."

Peirce nodded. "I see," he said and grinned. "So what do you believe in if you don't mind me asking."

"I don't want my nature to be all luring in men with lust," she paused ", and killing them." she said she was disgusted with herself for doing so all these years.

Peirce nodded. "That must be very hard to do." he said.

Crystal nodded. " It is...very hard."

Perice nodded. "In some way," he said. "We are alike, ya know?"

Crystal looked at him then. " And how is that?"

"I'm a creature of lust too," he said. "Only when I need it."

Crystal nodded. " I guess thats true." she sighed. " Having restraint for me is almost impossible," she paused. " I'm sorry for coming onto you like that..."

Peirce looked at her. "It's nothing, really," he said, trying to be all cool.

" I didn't realize i would be so... attracted to you." she admitted. " I don't usually get attached to my prey." she bit her lip.

Peirce looked at her. "It's probably nothing," he said smoothly. "Vampire are creatures of lust," he explained and paused. "At least that's what the books say. It's one of the reasons why vampire are able to capture their prey so easily."

He was stunned. He couldn't believe that he was someone else's prey. That never happened. Not unless another vampire was after him, but Peirce could easily destroy him and that would be the end of that. But not this time. This time he didn't know a thing about his hunter. Where were good books when you needed one?

Crystal smirked looking at him. " You've looked yourself up in books?" she said holding in her laugh.

Peirce looked at her, slightly shocked. "You can read thoughts?"

Crystal bit her lip. Had she read his mind.? She wasn't sure that was new to her. " I...I don't know." she said. She looked away from him what was going on with her.

Peirce sighed. "You can't hide from a vampire..."
